Pediatric Dental Office Design Built for Patients and Growth
RWE Design Build transformed an empty shell in Bartlett, Illinois into Little Roots Pediatric Dentistry,, a pediatric dental office design created for patient comfort, clinical workflow, and future growth.
RWE brought the Little Roots brand to life through natural wood finishes, organic forms, soft pastel colors, custom millwork, and playful sensory-focused details. The color palette balances brighter accents with softer tones to capture children’s attention while maintaining a comfortable, welcoming environment.
A Sensory-Conscious Pediatric Environment
The waiting area was designed to make the patient experience feel approachable from the moment families arrive. RWE incorporated acoustic ceiling clouds to help reduce noise, along with interactive wall features, a swing, child-friendly seating, and playful architectural details. A quieter consultation space also provides an alternative environment for patients who may benefit from a lower-stimulation setting.
Throughout the practice, color-coded door frames, painted soffits, custom finishes, and visual cues help create intuitive wayfinding while carrying the Little Roots identity from the reception area into the clinical spaces.
Planned for Future Growth
RWE also designed the practice with long-term expansion in mind. Plumbing, electrical, and medical gas infrastructure were incorporated into future treatment rooms before those spaces were equipped with dental chairs.
This forward planning allows Little Roots Pediatric Dentistry to increase treatment capacity more efficiently as the practice grows.
The completed pediatric dental office design brings together patient experience, thoughtful interior design, efficient clinical planning, and future-ready infrastructure to create a space built for both today’s needs and what’s next.
